Why YeboAuto exists

The bank looked at your past. We look at what you earn today.

Rent-to-own should be a second chance. Too often it ends up as surprise fees, a balloon you can’t pay, and a car stuck at the workshop while the debit order keeps running. We read the reviews.

So YeboAuto does the opposite, in writing: the full price before you sign, where every rand goes, a loan car if a repair takes more than a day, and nothing due after your last payment.

The YeboAuto deal

Eight promises the others won’t put in writing.

We read every complaint about rent-to-own in South Africa: surprise fees, balloon payments, cars stuck at the workshop while the debit order keeps running. Then we wrote the opposite into our deal.

Every rand, upfront

Weekly amount, deposit, term, the price to buy it at the end, and where every rand goes: the vehicle, insurance, service, licence and our margin. Your price card is locked in writing for 7 days.

No balloon: a small, fixed buy price

At the end you can buy the vehicle for a fixed price written into your agreement on day one: R5,000 for a car, R500 for a bike. No R40,000 surprise.

Buy it early if you want

Had a good season? Ask for an early buy-out quote and own it before the term ends. Most rent-to-own deals make you sit out the full contract.

Unlimited km for drivers & riders

Drivers do 1,200 km a week. We don’t cap the kilometres you earn with.

Off the road? Your week is on us

If a repair takes more than 24 hours, you get a loan vehicle or that week is free. Never pay for a car or bike you can’t earn with.

Bad-week pause

Can’t pay one week? WhatsApp us that day. Once a year you can move one payment to the end of your term, no penalty, no fight.

Road-legal from day one

PrDP and operating-licence help for e-hailing, the right insurance cover, and the papers in your hands for every roadblock.

FAQ

Straight answers

Can I get a car if I am blacklisted in South Africa?

Yes. With rent-to-own you rent the car for a fixed weekly amount and can buy it at the end of the term for a fixed R5,000. YeboAuto approves on income and affordability, so a bad credit record on its own does not stop your application.

What income do I need for rent-to-own?

YeboAuto cars need a take-home pay from about R9,000 a month, or an average business turnover from R15,000 a month if you are self-employed.

What is rent-to-own?

You rent a car or bike from YeboAuto for a fixed weekly amount for a set term, with the option to buy it at the end for a small fixed price (R5,000 for a car, R500 for a bike). It is a rental agreement, not vehicle finance or a loan. There is no balloon payment.

Can I get a car if I am blacklisted or under debt review?

Yes. Rent-to-own is a rental agreement, not a new loan. We look at your income and what you can afford each week, not only your credit record.

How much does rent-to-own cost in South Africa?

In 2026 rent-to-own e-hailing cars cost about R2,500–R3,800 a week and delivery bikes about R650–R1,250 a week. YeboAuto shows the weekly amount, the deposit, the term and the full total for every vehicle before you apply.

Can I use the car for Uber or Bolt?

Yes. Our e-hailing cars come with e-hailing insurance cover, unlimited kilometres and help with your PrDP and operating licence. Many rent-to-own companies do not allow e-hailing at all.

Do foreign nationals qualify?

Yes, if you have a valid passport and a permit that allows you to work in South Africa. This applies to delivery bikes and e-hailing cars.
